Grocery Cart Challenge and Weekly Menu for Aug 16-22
Posted by Holly Nelson on Friday, August 14, 2009 Under: Grocery Cart Challenge Friday
***I am now combining the Grocery Cart Challenge and the Weekly Menu. That way you can see what I purchased at the store and compare to what I'm making for breakfast , lunch, and dinner for that week! ***
Some of you may be wondering why I never have meats on my grocery list, yet it's on my menu. Here's why. My parents raise cattle for beef. They raise very healthy beef, so that is where I get my meat. We have a very good supply in our freezer. Google organic farms in your area. Take a family trip to see the farm. And consider buying a cow or half a cow for beef. It is a much healthier alternative. If you do not care about organic or healthy and want meat cheap; you can buy meat at Aldi very cheap. Or buy a huge roll of ground beef on sale at any store, separate into 1 pound bags and freeze.
I could've done better again this week. I could have homemade my pizza crusts and a few other things, but I decided to go for the easy way. Fridays are our "Pizza Night". I make a different kind of pizza every Friday. This Friday we were not sure of we were going to be busy, so I went for the pre-made kind.
Also, you will notice that I had a free coupon. I am part of a website called Vocal Point. I voice my opinion about products, and in return they send me coupons and free samples of products.
